In 2011 he was the only vocalist accepted into the Sydney Conservatorium of Music on Jazz Voice, studying with Australian jazz vocal legend Kerrie Biddell. The following year he was then re-accepted into the Jazz Guitar course under Steve Brien, being the only person at the Conservatorium to have ever studied both Jazz vocal and guitar.
Many of Ollie’s peers have noted how great he is being received at various performances.

Ollie Mode has quickly made a name for himself as an accomplished guitarist, vocalist and blues performer since moving to Sydney from the Central Coast in 2011. In recent times he has began establishing himself as a exciting frontman and sideman in several of Australia’s biggest pop/jazz/blues acts. Currently in his third year of study at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Oliver has had a very busy year so far. He recently became the new touring guitarist for the Potbelleez, local blues legend Clayton Doley’s organ experience and sydney jazz icon Gerard Masters’ band. Earlier this year he was asked to play at the Broadbeach Jazz Festival, opened for Renee Geyer at the basement and was the MD for Blues Brother Dan Aykroyd’s recent visit to Australia.
