Tameka Kennedy is a singer/songwriter/guitarist from Bathurst, NSW.
Tameka has supported Dami Im on her ‘Dreamer’ Tour, and regularly works as a musician and support act for 2015 Toyota Star Maker Mickey Pye. Tameka also works as a guitarist and backing singer on top of her busy schedule, with acts such as Travis Collins, Catherine Britt, Liam Kennedy-Clark, Ingrid Mae, Katie Jayne and more.
Tameka was awarded the ‘Travis Collins Scholarship’ in 2019 to attend the CMAA Academy of Country Music singer/songwriter course. Five months later, Tameka returned to the Academy’s Junior Course, as part of the Staff. The following year Tameka returned to the Academy in January 2020 to complete the Instrumental Course. Tameka remains apart of the staff as an Intern for 2021, and 2022 Academy courses where she performs as part of the band, and works as a songwriter and all-round assistant.
In 2018, Tameka was the ‘Runner-Up’ in the the ‘FretFest’ songwriting contest at age 17, which sent her to Tamworth to perform at multiple venues. In 2019, Tameka then won Coca-Colas, ‘Battle of The New Stars’ during the 2019 Tamworth Country Music Festival.
Tameka’s music draws strong influences from Country Pop artists such as Rascal Flatts, Dan + Shay and Kelsea Ballerini.
Tameka is hoping to release her debut single later in 2021!
